Kentucky Cheese Grits

- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic shopping list
- 5 dashes Lousiana Hot Sauce shopping list
- 4 cups water shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup quick cooking grits shopping list
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter shopping list
- 12 oz sharp cheddar cheese - shredded shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 2.5 liter baking dish
- Beat milk, egg, granulated garlic, and pepper sauce in a bowl
- Bring water and salt to a boil in a saucepan; cook and stir grits in boiling water (3-5 minutes)
- Remove from heat; add butter and half of the shredded cheddar
- Stir egg mixture into the grits, then puor into the prepared baking dish
- Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese over the grits
- Bake in preheated oven until cheese has melted and grits have set ( about 1 hour)
- Cool 20 to 30 minutes before serving.
- Grits should be cornbread like
