Smoked Mackerel Pate

- 200g/7oz fillets Smoked Mackerel - skin &/or bones removed & flaked into chunks shopping list
- 60g/2oz Cream cheese - “e.g. Philadelphia” shopping list
- 60ml/4tbsp Sour Cream shopping list
- 1tbsp Creamed Horseradish shopping list
- ½ Lemon - zest only shopping list
- Squeeze(s) Lemon Juice - to taste shopping list
- 1tbsp flat leaf Parsley - chopped shopping list
- 1tbsp fresh Dill - chopped shopping list
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Place the mackerel chunks into a large bowl or food processor;
- Add the cream cheese, sour cream, horseradish sauce, lemon zest and herbs and blend until smooth;
- Season to taste with salt and pepper;
- Squeeze in the lemon juice to taste and mix again;
- Transfer to a serving dish and chill in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour.
