How to make it

  • For the Jar:
  • 1. Layer ingredients in a 16 oz mason or ball jar.
  • For the soup: instructions to put on a tag on the jar.
  • 1. Combine contents of jar with water in a large pan.
  • Stir to mix well. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer 1 hour and 25 minutes, or until lentils are tender; stir occasionally. Before serving, stir in 1/2 teaspoon salt. If desired, simmer longer for thicker soup, or thin soup with water
