How to make it

  • In large skillet heat butter/olive oil and brown beef. Add onions and cook until soft.
  • Add mushrooms, broth, cayenne, black pepper, nutmeg, basil, and salt.
  • Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 45 min, and liquid reduces to 1/2 C.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 C. water and stir into beef. Simmer, stirring, one minute.
  • Remove from heat. Add sour cream and parsley.
  • Serve over noodles.
