Rainbow Cake

A light crumb and delicate flavor make this cake more than a sum of its parts. My family had trouble believing how easy this cake is to whip up! A wonderful starter for those who have never made a cake from scratch.
Ingredients
- 1 C., 2 TBS. butter shopping list
- 2 1/4 C. sugar shopping list
- 5 large eggs shopping list
- 2 1/4 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 4 1/2 C. cake flour shopping list
- 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 C. milk shopping list
- whipped cream shopping list
- food colors, green, yellow, pink (red) shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Cream together butter, vanilla and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat 5 min.
- 2. Mix dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Beat till smooth.
- 3. Divide into 3 bowls and color green, yellow, and pink.
- 4. Pour into tube pan: pink, green, yellow. DO NOT STIR!
- 5. Bake at 375 15-20 min. or until done. Let stand 15 min. then remove from the pan to cool. Serve with whipped cream.
