How to make it

  • In large skillet, melt butter over high heat and brown beef.
  • Add onions and cook over medium heat until soft.
  • Add mushrooms, broth, cayanne, black pepper, nutmeg, basil, and salt.
  • Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 45 min. and liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into beef.
  • Simmer, stirring, one minute.
  • Remove from heat and add sour cream.
  • Serve over noodles.
