How to make it

  • I use a large stock pot for mixing the ingredients.
  • Add the V-8 to the mixing container then the other ingredients.
  • Mix well then let stand for 1/2 hr then mix again. A submersible blender is excellent for this.
  • Once mixed, refrigerate for four hours, more if you can wait. It's one of those things that only gets better the longer it mellows.
  • Pour back into the V-8 container using a kitchen funnel. There will be a little extra.
  • Garnish with a beef stick, celery stalk and- if you dare- top with a split hot pepper.
