Beef Bourguignon

- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 1 pound sirloin strip steaks, cut into 2 inch lengths shopping list
- 4 Tbs Earth Balance shopping list
- 1 onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 bunch fresh carrots, shopping list
- chopped 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups red wine shopping list
- 1 cup beef broth shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme shopping list
- 8 oz fresh cremini mushrooms, sliced shopping list
How to make it
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt and ground black pepper. Coat the beef cubes with this mixture.
- Melt the butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the meat and brown well on all sides. Pour this into a 2 quart casserole dish.
- Return the skillet to the heat and add the onion, carrots. Saute for 5 to 10 minutes, or until onion is tender add the micro planed garlic for the last minute. add the wine, bay leaf, parsley and thyme. Pour over meat.
- Bake, covered, at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 2 1/2 hours. Remove cover, add mushrooms, bake for 30 more minutes.
