- 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped shopping list
- 4oz mushrooms, chopped shopping list
- 2TBLSP butter shopping list
- 1lb sausage, cooked shopping list
- 6 slices of bread, thick and cut into 1 inch pieces shopping list
- 8 eggs, cracked and beaten into a separate bowl shopping list
- 1tsp salt shopping list
- 1tsp ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2tsp sage shopping list
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1/2 cup grated colby cheese shopping list
- 2 cups of milk shopping list
How to make it
- 1- In a skillet cook the sausage until done, drain grease from sausage and set aside. In another skillet, put butter , onions and mushrooms and cook on medium for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 2- In a large bowl crack eggs and add seasonings and milk and beat thoroughly.
- 3- In a greased deep casserole dish, lay the bread, then the sausage, then the onions and mushrooms. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage mixture then lastly spread the cheese. Cover with lid and set in refrigerator over night.
- 4- Preheat oven 350 degrees.Take casserole out of fridge and set on countertop for 30mins. Bake with lid off for 30mins. Take out of oven and let it sit for 10min. Then serve.
