How to make it

  • In a medium -sized pot combine butter(or coconut oil), molasses,and sugar
  • heat over medium heat until butter has melted and sugar has dissolved
  • boil for 60 seconds
  • remove from heat and add vanilla
  • stir in rolled oats and flax(or almond meal). Mix well
  • press into well greased (or parchment paper lined) pie pan
  • bake at 350* F for 20 -25 minutes, until edges begin to darken
  • cool completely in pan
  • cut into wedges while still in the pan or upend on a cutting board to slice.
