Pineapple-dijon Ham Sandwiches

- • 1 lb. (500 g) fully cooked ham, cut into 1/2-inch cubes. shopping list
- • 10 oz. crushed pineapple. shopping list
- • 1 small green pepper, finely chopped. shopping list
- • 6 Tbs. raw sugar. shopping list
- • 2 Tbs. finely chopped onion. shopping list
- • 2 Tbs. Dijon mustard. shopping list
- • 1 tsp. dried minced onion. shopping list
- • 10 slices chewy Italian bread. shopping list
- • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese. shopping list
How to make it
- 1. In a greased 4-qt. slow cooker, combine the first seven ingredients. Cook, covered, on low 3-4 hours or until cooked through.
- 2. Preheat broiler. Place five slices of the bread on a baking sheet and lightly toast.
- 3. Remove from oven and flip over.
- 4. Using a slotted spoon, place ham mixture on the five toasted slices; top with cheese and the five un-toasted slices..
- 5. Broil 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted and tops are toasted; 3-4 in. from heat.
- All you need is the vino. A salad, if you’re in the mood.
