How to make it

  • 1. In a greased 4-qt. slow cooker, combine the first seven ingredients. Cook, covered, on low 3-4 hours or until cooked through.
  • 2. Preheat broiler. Place five slices of the bread on a baking sheet and lightly toast.
  • 3. Remove from oven and flip over.
  • 4. Using a slotted spoon, place ham mixture on the five toasted slices; top with cheese and the five un-toasted slices..
  • 5. Broil 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted and tops are toasted; 3-4 in. from heat.
  • All you need is the vino. A salad, if you’re in the mood.
