How to make it

  • To Boil:
  • 1. Scrub the potatoes well, try not to break the skin.
  • 2. Put the potatoes and bay leaf in a medium saucepan and cover with cold water by 2 inches (5 cm.). Salt the water generously.
  • 3. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook the potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes.
  • 4. Drain and put the potatoes in a serving bowl. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley. Toss and serve.
  • To Steam:
  • 1. Scrub the potatoes well, try not to break the skin.
  • 2. Put ½ cup of water and the bay leaf in a medium saucepan and put in your steaming rack. Arrange the potatoes evenly in the steamer rack and bring the water to the boil.
  • 3. Cover tightly, reduce heat to a simmer and steam for 20-25 minutes. Test for doneness with a bamboo skewer, the center of the potatoes should be soft. Do not overcook.
  • 4. Turn off the heat and remove potatoes to a serving bowl. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley. Toss and serve.
