Ingredients

  • • Basic Breakfast cereal of choice. shopping list
  • • ¼ cup (or so) raisins or dates or both. Cut the dates into thirds. shopping list
  • • As much milk as you would normally put on your cereal. shopping list
  • • Sugar to taste. You might want to use a little less sugar than usual as the raisins or dates will add sweetness. shopping list

How to make it

  • 1. Put the raisins or dates in your favorite cereal bowl.
  • 2. Heat the milk until not quite boiling and pour it over the raisins or dates.
  • 3. Cover and let come to room temp. A bit of stirring is good.
  • 4. Add the cereal and sugar and mix well.
  • 5. Serve.
  • Tip #1: You can make the fruit and hot milk mixture the night before and put it in the fridge (covered) until the morning.
  • Tip #2: I make my Oatmeal with milk and usually add raisins or dates to the milk when I put it on the stove. Then, make the Oatmeal the usual way. Superoatmeal.
