Ingredients

How to make it

  • Steam or blanch or zap broccoli florets in microwave , a minute at a time, checking for "bright green" . Set aside to cool
  • Throw the raisins , chopped red onion , and celery into large bowl.
  • Cook the bacon, either in a skillet on the stove, or zap between paper towels. Check the cooking after 2 minutes for 4 slices, 3 minutes for 5 slices. Get as crisp as possible without burning. Drain on clean paper towels. When cool, crumble the bacon.
  • Now make the dressing by combining the dressing ingredients. Add the cooled florets of broccoli to the big bowl, toss the ingredients a bit to combine and add the dressing. Then just before serving, add the sunflower seeds and crumbled bacon. Toss again. Enjoy!!

Love this! One of my favorite salads year round. For Thanksgiving and Christmas I sub dried cranberries for the raisins to give it a more festive look.
