Ingredients

How to make it

  • Season the cube steaks to taste. I have realized that I should not have added salt to these as the broth had salt and we got quite a strong salt intake!!!
  • Sear in hot pan to seal in the flavor and juices. (Not required, just my preference.)
  • Meanwhile, bring the broth to a boil in a deep-ish pan. I used my noodle cooking pan!
  • Once boiling turn down to a gentle simmer/warm.
  • Place the seared meat into the broth, cover and let it simmer for 3 to 5 hours. Until it is fork tender.
  • Just a few minutes before serving mix water and cornstarch and pour it over the meat into the broth.
  • Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes or so until the gravy is formed.
  • Serve warm!

I really do not know, I suppose so, if you keep it on low. My daughter uses an electric skillet. and yes, she simmers it for a few hours on low. It is so tender this way.
