Homemade Salisbury Steaks
From tuilelaith 6 years agoIngredients
- 1 package cube steaks shopping list
- beef bouillon and water, ready to use broth, homemade broth or bone broth, saved broth from what ever you have saved broth from shopping list
- Seasoning to taste, careful with the salt here! shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch shopping list
How to make it
- Season the cube steaks to taste. I have realized that I should not have added salt to these as the broth had salt and we got quite a strong salt intake!!!
- Sear in hot pan to seal in the flavor and juices. (Not required, just my preference.)
- Meanwhile, bring the broth to a boil in a deep-ish pan. I used my noodle cooking pan!
- Once boiling turn down to a gentle simmer/warm.
- Place the seared meat into the broth, cover and let it simmer for 3 to 5 hours. Until it is fork tender.
- Just a few minutes before serving mix water and cornstarch and pour it over the meat into the broth.
- Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes or so until the gravy is formed.
- Serve warm!
