How to make it

  • Set out a large, heavy skillet having a tight fitting cover.
  • Combine in the order listed, in a large bowl and set aside. (set 1)
  • Heat in the skillet over medium heat (set 2)
  • Add and cook until transparent (set 3)
  • Add to bread crumb mixture, the onions and the butter and (set 4) the ground meats.
  • Add spice mixture (set 5)
  • Mix thoroughly and beat mixture until smooth.
  • Shape into balls about 3/4 inch in diameter.
  • Heat in skillet (set 6)
  • Add meatballs and brown over medium heat.
  • Shake pan frequently to obtain an even browning and to keep balls round.
  • Reduce heat, cover skillet, and continue to cook about 10 minutes, shaking pan occasionally.
  • Serve meat balls hot or chilled.
  • Makes about 48 small meat balls.
