Sugar Cookies

These cookies have been in my recipe book for many years. I’m not even sure where I got the recipe, and I make them every Christmas and they never fail me.
Ingredients
- Pre heat oven to 350 degrees shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 1/2 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 2 cups of flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. cream of tarter shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking sofa shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl cream together the shortening
- sugars and egg.
- In another bowl add the dry ingredients.
- Add the dry ingredients to the shortening mixture.
- Mix till combined.
- Roll out to desired thickness ( I do 1/2 inch)
- Cut with cookie cutters cut into what shape you like.
- Decorate as you wish.
- I sprinkle mine with Lavender Sugar.
- Bake 10-12 minutes or until light brown.
- These freeze very well.
