How to make it

  • Mix butter and 1 1/4 cup sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Fold in blackberries.
  • Fill paper muffin cups or greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Sprinkle remaining sugar over the muffins. Bake at 375 degrees 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes before setting on wire racks. Serve warm.
