How to make it

  • In medium sized pot add 1 - 2 T. Olive oil.
  • Add ground meat mix and sausage.
  • Sautee till lightly browned.
  • Add crushed garlic. Sautee another minute or two.
  • Add tomatoes (I like to use a stick blender to puree the tomatoes) and red wine if using.
  • Let simmer about 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
  • Add cheese, parsley, and oregano. Let simmer another hour. Stir occasionally.
  • Adjust taste with salt and/or pepper, more cheese or herbs. Let simmer about 30 minutes more or until desired consistency. Stir occasionally.
  • When finished add Balsamic vinegar and let cook another minute or two.
