How to make it
- Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl
- .Add the stout a little at a time until you have a nice batter you probably will only need 8 to 10 ounces of the stout. The rest well I drink it.
- Submerge one piece of cod fillet into the batter.
- Meantime your frying oil should be heating up when at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) it is ready to fry.
- Add the fillet to the oil and submerge the next piece until the frying piece is golden brown. It will be a slightly darker from the color of the stout.
- You should check on the fillet once or twice to make sure it's not sticking.
- When golden brown set on a paper towel and lightly salt and pepper it immediately.
- If you are lucky enough to have a professional deep fryer you can fry more then one at a time.
- Serve with tarter sauce and lemon wedges.
- Don't forget the chips!
- Enjoy and God bless.
