How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Lightly butter a 9 inch pie plate with sides or a deep casserole dish.
  • Peel, core and chop apples.
  • Add 1 teaspoon Nutmeg, toss and lay in lightly buttered pie plate.
  • Melt the butter in a large frying pan.
  • When melted add the oats,flour, salt, brown sugar and the rest of the Nutmeg.
  • Stir with a wooden spoon until lightly toasted and you can smell it.
  • When toasted spread over apples,it will be hot so spread with the back of a spoon.
  • make sure all the apples are covered.
  • Put pie plate on a cookie sheet and bake until apples are bubbly.
  • 35-40 minutes.
  • Cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  • Whip up the whipping cream, add 1 teaspoon vanilla,and white sugar to your taste.
  • Serve over crisp or serve with lactose free ice cream.
