Oklahoma Fried Onion Burgers

- For Burgers: shopping list
- 1 pound ground meat, beef - turkey - pork/sausage - chicken - lamb - you get the idea, what ever your favorite meat is....or even veggie burgers ??? shopping list
- 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced right into a 1/2 of moon shape shopping list
- cheese slices, American - Swiss Mozzarella - Provolone - Your preferred sliced cheese shopping list
- 2 teaspoons heart healthy oil, Olive - Avocado - shopping list
- Fresh Ground black pepper, to taste shopping list
- Fresh Ground Pink Himalayan Salt, to taste shopping list
- bacon, cooked and set on paper towels to cool and loose some grease Tomatoes, sliced, optional shopping list
- Lettuce, leaves or shredded, optional shopping list
- Pickle Slices, optional shopping list
- Slices of Avocado, MY FAVORITE GARNISH shopping list

- For the Mystery Burger Sauce: shopping list
- 1/f4 cup mayonnaise shopping list
- 1/8 cup ketchup shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon pink himalayan salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon yellow mustard shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dill pickle juice shopping list
How to make it
- In a small bowl, place all of the ingredients for the burger' mystery sauce. Use a small whisk to mix.
- Sit aside.
- ~ ~ ~
- Place a large skillet over a medium heat on the stove top.
- Place the vegetable oil and onions in the skillet.
- Stir until the onion are coated by the oil.
- Let cook while making the patties.
- ~ ~ ~
- Separate ground meat to 4 equal parts.
- Roll each of the 4 portions into a ball.
- Take 2 - 8 inch square pieces of waxed paper, place one on a level counter.
- Place 1 of the balls of ground meat in the center of the wax paper on the counter.
- Over the top of the ball of meat, lay the other piece of waxed paper.
- Take a saucer.
- Place the saucer, top side down, centered over the meat, on top of the waxed paper.
- Press down, it will create the perfect sized burger.
- Season each of the burger patties with the salt and pepper.
- ~ ~ ~
- Place the burger patties, quickly, on top of the onions.
- Push with spatula to press hamburger and onion together.
- Let cook until one side turns brown.
- Flip it over and allow it to cook till browned on the other side.
- Remove the burgers and onions from the pan and place them on the bottom half of a burger bun.
- Add a slice of cheese, and Mystery Burger Sauce on top of the cheese.
- At this point if using bacon, tomato, lettuce, pickles, or avocado slices - add them now!
- Place the top of the bun on top of the veggies that are on top of the burger.
- Burger is ready!
