Ingredients

How to make it

  • Fill a large pan 1/2 full of water, add seasonings to taste.
  • [Please read Notes]]
  • Bring to a boil.
  • While waiting for the water to boil, cut the ribs apart.
  • When the water starts to boil add the ribs.
  • While the ribs boil, caramelize the onions.
  • Boil for around hour.
  • They should be just about to fall off of the bone when you turn them off.
  • Place the ribs into a cake pan.
  • Cover the ribs with the bbq sauce.
  • Put the onions on top of the sauce.
  • Save the water that you boiled the ribs in.
  • Use this to add to the ribs as they cook to keep them from drying out.
  • Place in the oven uncovered.
  • [I, personally, tent tin foil over it.
  • Cook at 350 for an hour, check them frequently.
  • Serve....

  • Erma's Notes:
  • I do not fill the large pan half full anymore.
  • I use one of those boxes of broth, usually chicken and bring it to a boil.
  • Yes, I still season to taste.
  • I add the ribs until what is in there is covered and boil.
  • Take them out and do another set if need be.
  • I do this until ALL of the ribs have cooked for around 20 to 30 minutes per pot.
  • I pour this water into an old milk jug and freeze it, when I am done with the ribs.
  • Use it as a base for soups, stews, anything you can think of.
  • I hate waste...
  • I save all the liquids from off of my vegetables also.
