Steamed Spareribs With Black Bean Sauce

- 2 lbs. pork spareribs, cut in to small pieces shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced shopping list
- 1 tsp. ginger, peeled and minced shopping list
- 2 tbsp. Chinese rice cooking wine shopping list
- 2 tbsp. light soy sauce shopping list
- 1 tsp. sesame oil shopping list
- 2 tsp. sugar shopping list
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch shopping list
- 2 tbsp. fermented black beans, drained, rinsed and soaked overnight shopping list
- 2 tbsp. green onions, chopped shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl, combine pork ribs, Chinese wine, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and sugar.
- Stir to fully coat meat and marinate overnight. (I put them in a large Ziplock bag in the fridge. Worked great.)
- Prepare a steamer by bringing about 2-3" of water to a boil.
- Add cornstarch to the ribs and sauce and combine until ribs are coated.
- Add black beans and stir to distribute.
- Transfer the ribs to a wide heat proof, shallow plate and place in the steamer.
- Cover and steam for about 20-30 minutes or until meat is no longer pink and cooked through.
- Sprinkle with green onions.
- Serve hot.
- *If you want a bit of heat, add chopped red chili peppers along with the green onions when ready to serve.
