This is a very healthy, refreshing drink you can make for you or your kids. It's perfect for the summer. In the past usualy was served on birthday parties, it was also called the "chicha del santo".

Ingredients
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 3 lt of water
  • Vanilla extract
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 1 naranjilla
  • The skin of a lemmon
  • Sugar to taste
  • Lots of ice

Directions
  1. First you have to leave the rice from the night before into 1 lt of water
  2. The next day you discard the water where you left the rice.
  3. Put the rice into a pot with the rest of the water and the cinnamon stick, let it boil for 15 minutes
  4. Then blend it on high speed and then straint it 2 or 3 times.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and the lemon skin.
  6. Let it cool down and serve with a lot of ice.

Great idea for left over rice (not that my son ever leaves much for left-overs). It sounds like horchata but less sweet, more refreshing. I like the lemon addition. We'll be cooking it today. Thanks
