How to make it

  • In a bowl combine candy and water then cover and soak overnight.
  • Drain well and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl cream butter and brown sugar.
  • Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition then beat in vanilla.
  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt then gradually add to creamed mixture.
  • Fold in walnuts and reserved candy then spread into greased jelly roll pan.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes then cool on wire rack and dust with powdered sugar.

    I have made these before, and they are great. The only thing better is the orange slice cake. If you have never tried it, well ya just got to, let me know if you need or want the recipe.
