How to make it

  • Prepare the patties round but NOT flattened
  • Preheat griddle
  • Add a pinch of the salt to hot pan
  • (No oil or shortening! )
  • Drop patties on to hot salt
  • Brown five minutes undisturbed at medium to high heat
  • Add salt to pan and flip patties (only once )on the salt
  • Do not press down on patty
  • After the next 5 minutes are up, leave in pan and add the topping to the burger
  • Place the skillet( with burger )under the broiler til' it bubbles and browns
  • Serve with steak fries
