Sausage-Krauters Recipe
Polish-inspired and great for picnics or tailgating.

Ingredients
  • 8 Polish sausages or large frankfurters
  • 1-8 ounce bag of sauerkraut, drained
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seed
  • 8 frankfurter buns

Directions
  1. Slit sausages lengthwise, cut almost to the ends and about 3/4 of the way through.
  2. In a bowl, combine sauerkraut, chili sauce, onion and caraway seeds.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Stuff about 2 tablespoons of the sauerkraut mixture into the slit of each sausage.
  5. Secure with wooden skewers.
  6. Grill over hot grill for about 10 minutes, turning frequently.
  7. Serve in frankfurter buns, and don't forget to remove the skewers before eating!!!
