How to make it

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, basil and salt and pepper. Mix well.
  • Cut tomatoes into 1/2-inch pieces and drain on a paper towel.
  • Add tomatoes to the flour mixture.
  • Add the onion parsely and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Toss, but don't mix.
  • In a small bowl, beat egg nd add it to the flour-tomato mixture.
  • Blend lightly with a fork
  • Heat oil in a fry pan.
  • Drop the batter by tablespoons full into the hot oil
  • Fry unitl golden brown on both sides.
  • Keep fritters warm in the oven until ready to serve.
