Ingredients

2/3 cup of Sugar

1/4 cup of Shortening

1/2 cup of Milk

1 Egg

1/4 tsp of Salt

1 tsp of Vanilla

1 1/2 cups of Flour

2 tsp of Baking Powder

Directions

Mix all of the ingredients.

Pour into cake pan.

Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

This cake is VERY good, especially considering the ease of making it and the short ingredient list. We added chocolate chips (and used butter instead of shortening) but believe it would also be great with some orange zest or candied lemon peel. Excellent!
