Guiness Beef From My Sister-In-Law

- 3 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1 red onion thinly sliced shopping list
- 2 celery ribs thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 carrot thinly sliced shopping list
- 2 bottles Guinness stout shopping list
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste shopping list
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chopped orange peel shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Heat olive oil in Dutch oven over high heat.
- Coat beef lightly with flour and fry in batches until well browned on all sides.
- Transfer beef to a plate and fry onions in the same pot until browned about 15 minutes.
- Add celery and carrots during last 5 minutes.
- Return beef and any accumulated juices to pot.
- Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer covered for 3 hours.
