Cranberry Strata

- 12 cups day old Italian bread cubes shopping list
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar divided shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract shopping list
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1-1/2 cup half and half shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 14 ounce can sour cherries chopped shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup corn syrup shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Place 8 cups of the bread cubes in prepared pan.
- In mixing bowl beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and extract until smooth.
- Stir in pecans and cranberries.
- Spoon over bread and top with remaining bread cubes.
- In mixing bowl whisk eggs, cream, cinnamon and remaining sugar.
- Pour over bread and bake uncovered for 40 minutes.
- Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
- Top with cherry syrup.
- To make cherry syrup combine cherries, sugar and corn syrup in small saucepan then bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in extract. Serve warm over strata.
