Midwest Sausage Stuffing

- 1 pound bulk pork sausage crumbled shopping list
- 3/4 cup minced white onion shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups chopped celery (stalks and leaves) shopping list
- butter shopping list
- 8 cups soft bread cubes shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons crushed leaf sage shopping list
- 1 teaspoon thyme leaves shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In large skillet cook and stir sausage, onion and celery until meat is brown and onion is tender.
- Drain off fat.
- Add enough butter to sausage fat to measure 1 cup.
- Stir butter mixture and about 1/3 of the bread crumbs into meat mixture.
- Turn into deep bowl.
- Add remaining ingredients and toss.

Thanks for a great post! I think I'll try it for Thanksgiving this year. Is it moist without having to add any chicken broth or stock?

I have used this recipe for many many years - always a big hit!!
