How to make it

  • Chop preserves. Transfer to saucepan.
  • Add dried cherries (I chop these a little bit too) and vinegar.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add onion, green pepper and carrot.
  • Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in salt and basil.
  • Cover and chill overnight.
  • This makes 2 cups of relish.
