Chocolate Shoo-fly Pie Recipe
Just like a traditional shoo-fly pie but with added flavor of chocolate. Really, really yummy.

Ingredients
  • 2 unbaked pie shells, store bought or homemade, in pan pans
  • Bottom of pie:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • Top of pie:
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups molasses

Directions
  1. In a saucepan, bring sugar, water, butter, cornstarch, flour and cocoa to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Cool and pour equally into the bottom of the unbaked pie shells.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, cocoa, baking soda, water, lard, salt, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and molasses.
  4. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour mixture over top botton-mixture in pie shells.
  6. Bake in a 350° oven for 35-40 minutes or until done.
