How to make it

  • Mix shortening and sugar until encorporated
  • Add egg and molasses and mix
  • Combine remaining dry ingredients in separate bowl
  • Add dry 1/2 dry ingredients to wet and mix, repeat with remaining half
  • Chill batter at least one hour
  • Roll dough into 1 tsp balls
  • Bake at 375 for 10 minutes
  • Cool on rack then dust with powdered sugar
