Health Slaw Recipe
I love this easy salad and have made it many times. It's good with a meal or just by itself as a tasty snack. I used it as a healthy diet food.

Ingredients
  • 4 Cups shredded cabbage (mix of red and green is good)
  • 2/3 Cup grated carrots
  • 1/3 Cup chopped celery
  • 1/3 Cup Golden Raisins
  • 2/3 Cup drained crushed pineapple plus two tbls reserved juice
  • 1/3 Cup raw shelled sunflower seeds
  • 1 8oz container of active-culture yogurt (pineapple, pina colada or vanilla)

Directions
  1. Toss cabbage, grated carrots, celery, golden raisins and sunflower seeds together.
  2. Mix yogurt into pineapple and reserved juice.
  3. Stir yogurt mixture into the slaw mix.
  4. Chill and allow to rest for 30 minutes before serving.

Thank you!!! I think it is! I made this and my Sunshine carrot salad frequently when I was on a "diet" many years ago and loved both. I used what I like in them and merrily ate away. There might be sweetness to it but the veggies and fruits are so good for you! What a way to go...veggies, fruit, dairy and nuts to boot!


Oh ya, I remember this one, thanks for bringing it back to me! I'm always happy to find recipes that taste good and will make me feel good from the inside out.
