With it's sweet and sour taste, this recipes really wakes up those everyday green beans!

Ingredients
  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbl sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 lbs cooked fresh green beans
  • 1/4 cup bacon drippings

Directions
  1. Fry bacon in large heavy skillet until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon from skillet and crumble into small pieces; set aside.
  3. Drain off all but 1/4 cup bacon drippings. In medium bowl, combine vinegar, water, eggs, salt, and sugar, beat until well blended.
  4. Add mixture to skillet, with bacon drippings and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Place cooked green beans in serving dish and pour mixture over green beans.
  6. Add crumbled bacon pieces to top and serve immediately.
