Sweet Potatoe Casserole Recipe

I love this sweet potatoe casserole, first had it at my neighbors house, she gave me her recipe and I've made it ever since, going on 20 some years now.

Ingredients
- 6 medium sweet potatoes
- 6 medium apples
- 6 Tablespoons butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- 2 Tablespoons flour
Directions
- Par boil peeed and sliced sweet potatoes.
- Peel, core, slice apples (as for pie)
- Alternate potatoes and apples in layers in a buttered dish or 9X13 pan.
- Sprinkle each layer with butter, sugar,and lemon juice.
- Add thickening made of 2 Tablespoons of flour and 1/3 cup water.
- Pour on 1 cup hot water and bake at 325* 30 minutes.

I just wish my hubby didn't get sick eating sweet taters. It has to go back to his childhood or something!!!!!!!!!! He can't even eat acorn squash!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE sweet taters. Baked, mashed, pie. I put them in my Sancocho and he doesn't know. haha
