Why did I not think of this sooner? Love chocolate and pretzels. You can use your favorite pudding inside. Heck get a can of chocolate pudding to make this in a snap! Get it ...pretzels snap...ok ok

Ingredients
  • 1 (10 ounce) package rold gold brand classic thins pretzels
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • Chocolate Filling
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares, broken into small pieces
  • 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
  1. Crust:.
  2. Crush pretzels very fine in a blender or food processor.
  3. Add sugar and butter or margarine. Mix well.
  4. Press into a 9" pie plate.
  5. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes. Cool. Fill with Chocolate Filling.
  6. Filling:
  7. Combine sugar, cornstarch, milk and chocolate in the top of a double boiler. Cook over boiling water until thickened, stirring constantly.
  8. Cover and continue to cook 15 minutes.
  9. Stir part of the hot chocolate mixture into the egg yolks. Add to the chocolate mixture and mix thoroughly. Cool. Add vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
  10. Makes one 9-inch pie.
  11. of course I serve this with whip cream on top! I wonder how pop corn would be? I love pop corn and chocolate. Guess it will mush out!
