Grilled Stilton Burgers Recipe
This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Irwin Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1988.

Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 ounces stilton cheese cut into four 1/2" thick slices
  • 4 crusty burger rolls split
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 crispy Romaine lettuce leaves

Directions
  1. Preheat grill on high heat or preheat broiler for 5 minutes.
  2. Form ground beef into four burgers then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook burgers for 7 minutes without moving them or pressing down.
  4. Using a wide spatula then gently flip burgers over and press down only once.
  5. Cook 5 minutes longer.
  6. Add cheese to tops of burgers and grill or broil 2 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile grill or broil buns until warmed through.
  8. Place burgers on buns and top each with a slice of tomato and Romaine leaf.
