How to make it

  • Preheat grill on high heat or preheat broiler for 5 minutes.
  • Form ground beef into four burgers then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Cook burgers for 7 minutes without moving them or pressing down.
  • Using a wide spatula then gently flip burgers over and press down only once.
  • Cook 5 minutes longer.
  • Add cheese to tops of burgers and grill or broil 2 minutes.
  • Meanwhile grill or broil buns until warmed through.
  • Place burgers on buns and top each with a slice of tomato and Romaine leaf.
