Stained Glass Windows
From myfamilykitchen 16 years agoIngredients
- 12 ounces chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 bag colored mini marshmallows shopping list
- 1 cup chopped nuts shopping list
- 1 cup coconut flakes shopping list
How to make it
- melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or in the microwave and stir until smooth.
- place the marshmallows in a large bowl with the nuts. pour the chocolate in and mix well to combine.
- now you need 4 sheets of wax or parchment paper about 14 inches long.
- place a piece of wax or parchment paper on a flat surface and spoon half of mixture onto the paper.
- using the paper to roll, form the mixture into a log, making sure it rolls tightly.
- unroll the paper from the log. on a second sheet of paper, sprinkle some of the coconut flakes and place the log on top. sprinkle with more coconut and re-roll in the new paper.
- repeat the process for the remaining mixture.
- chill for at least 2 hours.
- remove the logs from the paper and slice into 1/2 to 1 inch thick slices.
- each slice looks like a mini stained glass window!
- Kids love to help with this recipe (if you can keep them from eating the ingredients!)
- we used to make these when I was a kid for all the major holidays.
