Filled Bread Pockets Recipe
These are really great to do with the kids…they can pick there filling…plus you get the pleasure of spending some more quality time with them…..big hugs to you…..Griz……..Enjoy!!

Ingredients
  • Chicken Filling:
  • 1 (10-oz.) can Chicken Breast Meat, drained
  • 1/3 cup condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1/2 cup frozen Peas and Carrots
  • 1 tablespoon minced Onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon White Pepper
  • Burrito Filling:
  • 3/4 pound lean Ground Beef or Pork
  • 1/2 can Green Chilies
  • 2 tablespoons Burrito or Taco Seasoning, from dry mix
  • 1/2 cup refried Beans
  • Pizza Filling:
  • 1/2 pound Italian Sausage, remove from casings and crumble
  • 1/4 cup chopped Onions
  • 1/4 cup Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Mushrooms, chopped
  • Enough Pizza Sauce to moisten

Directions
  1. Pockets: Slice thawed dough into slices (1 per sandwich - 1 loaf should yield 8 sandwiches). Using flour and rolling pin, roll 1 slice of dough into a 5" circle. Place a couple Tbsp. filling in center of bread circle.
  2. Pull all dough edges up to center and pinch tightly together. Place seam side down on cookie sheet you've sprayed with non-stick coating.
  3. With a sharp knife, make a slit on top of bread pocket for a steam vent. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Chicken Filling:
  5. Mix well and fill pockets
  6. Burrito Filling:
  7. Cook meat until no longer pink, drain well. Stir into meat remaining ingredients. Fill bread pockets and fill.
  8. Pizza Filling:
  9. Cook everything together except pizza sauce. Drain well. Stir in Pizza Sauce and 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese and 1 Tbsp. shredded Parmesan Cheese. Fill bread pockets and bake.
  10. Other Suggestions:
  11. Rueben Filling Roast Beef with Gravy filling Barbequed Beef, Pork, Ham or Chicken filling Vegetables and Cheese fillings
