Kai Sarap Crispy Chicken And Pork Adobo Flakes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 kilo pork, cut into strips
  • 1/2 kilo chicken breast fillet, cut into strips
  • 4 pcs bay leaf
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed, more if you're using native Ilocos garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • vegetable or canola oil for frying

Directions
  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, except for the oil. Marinate for 2-4 hours.
  2. Remove the pork and chicken flakes from the marinade and fry until desired texture.
  3. Put the marinade in low heat and add the fried meat strips.
  4. Let simmer for half an hour or slow cook for 1 hr.
  5. Serve with rice.

My son-in-law (half filipino) makes the most wonderful adobo - I had never heard of it until he made it for me. His grandma will not give up her "secret" recipe just yet, but he says his is very close. I will have to try your version, too!
