Mexicana Egg Rolls

- 1 pound ground beef shopping list
- 1 medium onion, diced shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chili powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano shopping list
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce shopping list
- 24 egg roll skins shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 medium green bellpepper, diced shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin shopping list
- 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, grated shopping list
- 2 large egg whites, beaten shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- In a heavy skillet begin to brown ground beef in 1 tablespoon oil.
- Add onion, green pepper, garlic, salt, chili powder, cumin and oregano. Stir to combine and continue to stir until onion and pepper begin to soften; drain well.
- Add water, cover and reduce heat. Continue to cook until dry, approx. 25 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in grated cheese and hot sauce.
- Roll in egg roll skins according to package directions.
- Heat oil in deep fryer to 350 degrees F. Cook a few at a time in fryer until brown about 1 minute.
