Don Don Noodles The Easy Way Recipe
A variation on the original Chinese noodle sauce Marco Polo forgot when he introduced(?) pasta to the Western world.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 lb gound pork
  • 3 level tbs Chinese Ground Bean Sauce*
  • 1/2 C chicken broth
  • 3 tbs mined green onion
  • 1-1/2 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil*
  • 1/2-1 tsp Chinese chili sauce (hot)*
  • Chinese Noodles *
  • ( good spaghetti will also do)
  • *Can be found in Asian markets or even the Safeway (but at much higher prices)

Directions
  1. Mince the green onion
  2. Mince the ginger
  3. Add them to the chicken broth
  4. Add the sesame oil to the chicken broth
  5. Add the chili sauce to the chicken broth mixture
  6. Stir until completely dispersed
  7. Set the mixture aside
  8. Heat the pork and bean sauce to a skillet
  9. (I use Pam to keep from sticking and to keep the fat down)
  10. Thoroughly brown the pork-bean mixture, breaking up any lumps with a wooden spoon or paddle
  11. Add the chicken broth mixture to the pork-bean mixture
  12. Simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat to evaporate some of the liquid.
  13. Cook the noodles or pasta per instructions on the package
  14. Add the pork mixture to the drained noodles
  15. Toss until homogeneous,
  16. Serve
