Sun Drop Pound Cake

This is a pound cake made with a locally-made soft drink, Sun Drop. It is a carbonated citrus beverage, much like Mello-Yello or Mountain Dew.
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 5 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp. lemon extract shopping list
- 3 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 7 oz. Sun Drop shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and shortening with sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add lemon extract.
- Add flour and Sun Drop alternately, beating after each addition.
- Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 300 for 90 minutes.
- If you want a glaze, stir a little Sundrop into some powdered sugar and drizzle over top.
