If you want to cook Tom Yum but can’t find proper ingredients like tom yum paste, galangal or lemongrass in your local store, take a look on online shops, which send fresh ingredients from Thailand worldwide: http://tomyumrecipe.com

if you can't find tom yum paste in your area may be you can make it your self by crushing; 2 lemon grass
    6 kaffir lime leaves
    1/2 cup of galangal
    1 cup of shallots
    juice from 1 lime
    3 tbs fish sauce
1 tbs tamarind (pick out the seeds)
    2 cups of chili peppers
into a very fine puree than stir fry in low-medium heat with 3 tbs of oil until very fragant and thickened, store in a small container you can refrigerate for few months
