How to make it
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan stirring to dissolve sugar.
- Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes.
- Add cranberries and bring to a boil again.
- Cook another 5 minutes on slightly reduced heat.
- Pour into a heat proof dish or chafing dish.
- Heat brandy.
- Ignite heated brandy with a match and carefully pour over the cranberry mixture.
- Blend brandy gently into the sauce and serve over ice cream.
