Chili Cheeseburger Skillet Recipe
For those who Chili-Cheese Dip, remember Ike's Chili Parlor in Tulsa, or just happen to like 'chili-cheese dogs' or chili-cheeseburgers. Great while watching the big game on TV. Reheats well after refrigeration.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound extra lean Ground Beef OR Mild Bulk Sausage (e.g. Gwaltney's "Aberdeen") OR half-and-half Sausage/Ground Beef
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1-11 oz. can Wolf Brand Chili (without beans)
  • 1-14 oz. pkg. Kraft Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (the 'Great Value' brand is just as good)
  • 1- 15.5 oz.can undrained canned Corn (or 'Mexicorn') OR 2 cups Frozen Sweet Corn plus 1/4 cup addl water.
  • 1/4 to 1 tsp. Zatarain's Liquid Shrimp & Crab Boil
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped Onion
  • fresh-ground Black Pepper, to taste
  • Salt, to taste (don't add until you check it tho)
  • About a handful Shredded Cheddar or Mexican Style Cheese to top each serving (again, 'Great Value' is just as good)

Directions
  1. - Brown meat in large skillet or Dutch Oven, adding onion if you prefer them cooked.
  2. - Stir in water, corn, Zatarain's and Macaroni.
  3. - Bring to a boil.
  4. - Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 10 min. or until macaroni is tender, stirring 2 or 3 times to keep macaroni from sticking.
  5. - Add onion (if not cooked in), chili, and the Cheese Sauce package.
  6. - Mix well and cook 2 min. more, or until heated through.
  7. - Ladle into bowls.
  8. - Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  9. ********** Notes : **********
  10. - Substitute, for the mac & cheese dinner - 2 cups uncooked macaroni and about 8 oz. cubed Velveeta cheese (or 8 oz. Cheese Whiz).
  11. - Try adding half the onion while browning the meat, the other half with the cheese.
