How to make it

  • - Brown meat in large skillet or Dutch Oven, adding onion if you prefer them cooked.
  • - Stir in water, corn, Zatarain's and Macaroni.
  • - Bring to a boil.
  • - Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 10 min. or until macaroni is tender, stirring 2 or 3 times to keep macaroni from sticking.
  • - Add onion (if not cooked in), chili, and the Cheese Sauce package.
  • - Mix well and cook 2 min. more, or until heated through.
  • - Ladle into bowls.
  • - Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • ********** Notes : **********
  • - Substitute, for the mac & cheese dinner - 2 cups uncooked macaroni and about 8 oz. cubed Velveeta cheese (or 8 oz. Cheese Whiz).
  • - Try adding half the onion while browning the meat, the other half with the cheese.
