Chili Cheeseburger Skillet

- 1 pound extra lean ground beef OR Mild bulk sausage (e.g. Gwaltney's "Aberdeen") OR half-and-half Sausage/Ground Beef shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 1-11 oz. can Wolf Brand chili (without beans) shopping list
- 1-14 oz. pkg. Kraft Deluxe macaroni & cheese Dinner (the 'Great Value' brand is just as good) shopping list
- 1- 15.5 oz.can undrained canned corn (or 'Mexicorn') OR 2 cups Frozen sweet corn plus 1/4 cup addl water. shopping list
- 1/4 to 1 tsp. Zatarain's Liquid shrimp & crab Boil shopping list
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped onion shopping list
- fresh-ground black pepper, to taste shopping list
- salt, to taste (don't add until you check it tho) shopping list
- About a handful Shredded Cheddar or Mexican Style cheese to top each serving (again, 'Great Value' is just as good) shopping list
How to make it
- - Brown meat in large skillet or Dutch Oven, adding onion if you prefer them cooked.
- - Stir in water, corn, Zatarain's and Macaroni.
- - Bring to a boil.
- - Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 10 min. or until macaroni is tender, stirring 2 or 3 times to keep macaroni from sticking.
- - Add onion (if not cooked in), chili, and the Cheese Sauce package.
- - Mix well and cook 2 min. more, or until heated through.
- - Ladle into bowls.
- - Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- ********** Notes : **********
- - Substitute, for the mac & cheese dinner - 2 cups uncooked macaroni and about 8 oz. cubed Velveeta cheese (or 8 oz. Cheese Whiz).
- - Try adding half the onion while browning the meat, the other half with the cheese.
